October Stitching – The Finishes!

I had a pretty awesome October as far as Halloween-themed stitching goes!  First, the finishes:

Blessed by by Enchanting Lair on 16 ct.  Silkweaver Green Apple opalescent Aida using custom colors and more blending filament than the law should allow!

Witchy-Washy by Raise the Roof Designs om 28 ct. white opalescent Lugana using  Crescent Colours Caribbean Waters for the bloomers and Sunflower for the stars and moons, ThreadWorx purple, black Treasure Braid for the boots and recommended DMC’s for everything else.

Something Wicked by La D Da on 32 ct. French white Belfast using recommended DMC’s

Blessed Be by Plum Pudding Needleart on 32 ct. Silkweaver Castle View Belfast using Crescent Colours and Dinky Dyes silks

I had two other finishes this month but with Christmas close by I can’t share them. 😉

Crucial Quotes #33

“Th[is] Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival… It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.” – John Adams in a letter to his wife Abigail

The Bruins Bear

I will be stopping here with the Bruins Bear tonight.

He is such a dark bear because the Boston mascot is a dark, dark brown. I think some petite black beads for eyes and nose will help with the definition.

I put him in a road white jersey so the poor thing didn’t disappear in a blob of black.

FYI Bruins gold is DMC 742. Exactly. Trust me I matched it to my jersey!

I used GAST Picnic Basket for the main bear color which I think goes perfectly!

I still have to finish his shorts, socks, skates, stick, puck and emblem! On the back of the ornie I plan on stitching CHIEF 36 since this is a Father’s Day gift and that nickname and number mean a lot to my Dad.
